Feel at home in your body.

Osteopathy, ScarWork and Clinical Pilates in Queenstown

After years of examining and treating people, the human body is still the biggest miracle I know, and it never ceases to amaze me. Part of that is how clearly it communicates: pain is a signal that the body’s function is disturbed and understanding why is where my work begins. My approach is holistic, in my methods and in the way I see each patient: I want to help you become pain-free sooner, and to encourage you to play an active part in looking after your own health.

I’m Brita, an osteopath with a decade of clinical experience and extensive post-graduate training across different fields. Whether you’re dealing with a stubborn injury, chronic pain, a complex condition, or simply want to move better and feel stronger, I’d love to help.

Osteopathy

I assess your whole body to understand what’s really driving your symptoms, then draw on a wide range of hands-on techniques to treat the cause, including visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, nerve mobilisation, joint manipulation and soft tissue work. My postgraduate training covers conditions ranging from neck pain, headaches and jaw problems to nerve pain, disc injuries, shoulder dysfunction and women’s health.

Clinical Pilates

This isn’t a generic Pilates class. Every session is one-to-one and designed around your body, your movement patterns and your history — including any injuries, surgeries or conditions that affect how you move. Because I am also an osteopath, I bring a depth of anatomical knowledge and clinical insight to each session that goes far beyond standard pilates instruction.

Women’s Health

I have advanced post-graduate training in women’s health and have worked with many women navigating conditions that are often dismissed or poorly understood — from pelvic pain and endometriosis to prenatal care and postnatal recovery, bladder dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, scar tissue treatment and pelvic floor dysfunction.

ScarWork

An approach to releasing scar tension and helping scars integrate into the surrounding tissue, developed by Sharon Wheeler over four decades of practice. Even when the surface looks healed, the layers beneath can stay tight, pulling on nearby tissue and affecting movement, sensation and function. The touch is very light, and most scars respond, new or old.

“I am blown away by Brita’s expertise and ability to put my body back together every time. I have had many dozens of osteopathic treatments and I have never had the immediate and profound results as I do with Brita. Her ability to get to the root of what’s happening in my body so quickly amazes me every time.”

Gretchen — Physical Therapist, USA

“I have had shoulder and neck pain for over a year. I couldn’t lift my arm above my head. The first visit with Brita gave me so much relief and it lasted. By the end of my second visit I could lift my arm above my head. Three months later I’m no longer needing pain medication. I wish I had found Brita sooner.”

Lenora, Queenstown

After almost a year at physio with mixed results — 5 treatments with Brita gave me great results. She is a star.”

The person behind
the treatment table

I lived and worked in New Zealand for seven years, four of them in Queenstown, where I found a community I love and a place that feels like home in a way few places do.

I bring with me a Master of Osteopathy, extensive continuing education across diverse clinical areas, and — most importantly — a deep commitment to the people I work with. I care about your outcomes. I’ll keep learning as long as I’m practising.
